Joomla Content Management System

Joomla is a pretty solid open source Content Management System (CMS) that fulfils nearly every function required by a straightforward site, with a large array of plug-ins written by the community to extend that functionality as necessary. If you need an example of a Joomla site, you're looking at it! Our NZfusion website is based on Joomla with a free custom template called JApurity.
Site setup, user management, administration and content management can all be handled via a relatively easy to use administration console and this console also provides interfaces to edit template code directly.
One concern I do have is that performance degrades drastically as additional modules are loaded and optimising performance does not seem to be a straightforward task.
Overall, I believe Joomla is a very powerful tool for simple websites and great for fast prototyping of a concept. I've managed to find a way to do just about anything I've wanted to provide in terms of functionality, it just takes a bit of time to search for the easiest way to do it. The good thing is there is a large, established community of existing users out there to help and I would thoroughly recommend you give it a try!
