I noticed when I went to log into Facebook today that I may optin to using the new interface. Unfortunately, doing so had no effect what so ever and I could not find a way of opting in once logged in.
I discovered that if you are having issues opting in to the new facebook user interface, paste
?fbnew_opt_in=1
to the end of the URL, once you have logged in. Then press enter. Facebook will then appear wider, more web2.0 and less y2k.
Update: It seems people are more interested in the opt out option. It is very difficult to opt out of. Best approach is to refresh the page and click on opt out (in the top right). It seems they use an abundance of AJAX and as soon as something goes wrong, nothing seems to work!

Actually, I found this interface a real pain to use. And very difficult to opt out of. Best approach is to refresh the page and click on opt out (in the top right). It seems they use an abundance of AJAX and as soon as something goes wrong, nothing seems to work!
Added more real content to help you opt out of new facebook. My account is still the old one, but they’ll be migrating everyone to the new design soon. It is better than when I last tried it.
