Seems like gambling craziness; but realistically the NZ gambler has a plethora of places to lose money online. Several of these advertise on NZ TV and more importantly on websites most likely to be frequented by people interested in gambling.
The result is probably that NZ lottery is losing income… or was; they have a website now. It is even drumming up some promotional controversies.
Safeguards that have been put in place are probably a little restrictive considering the market that lotto are competing with. Though some are actually rather convienient… for example: you can set the amount that you can spend per week or even per month.
It may actually be a useful site to teach youth how to gamble sensibly, perhaps they should also have an online casino like that… I could definitely do with a deal like that in the clubs, but I suppose I could be self regulating.
MyLotto requires your bank account information to create an account, so you really need to want to create one of these accounts - it will probably take 5 days! While you wait you could go and play poker online.

I really do think it is strange to make a big fuss about something you don’t think people should have access to. You often just reduce the promotional budget.
