It seems a little strange to me that Microsoft is the major sponsor of an open source award, even one run by Sourceforge.net… I know Microsoft is in the open source space more and more often, but it still seems strange. I can’t wait for their BSD release!

It is worth checking out the finalists… Drupal got in there, so did phpMyAdmin, firebird, xoops, xampp, open office and a stack of others; a mixture that I have heard of and haven’t.
