Who would have imagined we would have such interactive technologies? Google and other companies are helping create amazing technologies… you can even use streetview to go on a virtual tour.
At the moment you can only browse around cities in the United States, but I am user there will be opportunities to virtual tour the rest of the world soon. The technology itself is obviously very similar to the online maps that we have had for a while. But the investment in collecting this sort of data must be immense. Luckily there are lots of companies around the world interested in getting involved.
Where will this collaborative effort take us next? Virtual space travel?
