I’ve uploaded the sneak peek candidate to nzfusion.com/wordpress. I didn’t back up my blog and install wordpress 2.5 over the top - it might be something I’d do, but I suspect that would break my blog and create a lot of extra work for me!
I used FileZilla to upload the Wordpress release candidate onto my US based server; the first thing I noticed was the number of ’smileys’ that were being uploaded! In total 507 files were uploaded… I could have uploaded the zip and expanded it via a ssh login, but I didn’t have ssh access from the PC I was using.
I have also been having problems with emails in the stable wordpress release. I have received an email on the conclusion of the sneak peek installation, so hopefully that is email notifications fixed for me. If so I’ll migrate to 2.5 immediately!
It looks like email is not an issue for Wordpress 2.5, I’m not sure why I have problem in 2.3? But I do.
