Just came across an amazing Flash application based website, via stumbleupon, which I’ve just signed up to and installed a toolbar for… anyhow, this site estimates CO2 emissions and births and deaths for every country on earth (every one they have data for I suspect - which appears to be most of them).
The website is BreathingEarth.net and it doesn’t do much except show births, deaths and CO2 emissions… I guess seeing trees and other CO2 consumers doing their thing would also be cool… But Breathing Earth is definitely worth a browse… simplicity is elegance.
Update: Earthhour is coming soon 8pm, 29th March 2008, even in New Zealand. It appears that earth hour is 8pm, regardless of where you are in the world. This will save a great deal of confuzzlement, we won’t need to refer to the World clock, work out if it was UTC or GMT or Localised time! The only thing that can stop us is more daylight savings time bugs.
